Lessons at the Poi Studio: Poi, yoga, and dance!

The first series of classes at the Poi Studio have ended. Thanks so much to everybody who turned out for the poi lessons, for Jenn's Yoga class (MONDAY AT 5:30pm), and for Luna's Ekstasis (ecstatic dance) workshops. Here’s the line up for the new year:

POI Classes and Playtimes
Great news: This year’s winner of the Circles of Light Video Contest, Andreas Hoenigschmid, has come all the way from Germany to partner with me at the studio. He’ll be helping me teach all the classes. You’re not going to find a more exciting place to play poi anywhere in the world smile
Here’s the coming winter schedule:
Experienced poi class: Sunday at 5:00pm starting Jan 9th
Beginner poi class: Monday at 7:00pm starting Jan 10th
Mixed poi class: Wednesday at 5:30pm starting Jan 12th (if there is enough demand)
These will be six week courses. The cost is $90.

We'll also be repeating the Sunday playtimes from 6:30pm onwards as a $5 drop-in.

We’ll continue yoga on Monday nights with Jennifer McLeish-Lewis. Come by for a combination of Hatha and Classical Ashtanga yoga, Monday nights at 5:30pm. Please show up on time.

Ekstasis Six Week Series – Vancouver – with Luna
This six weeks series will take you on a journey within, to reconnect
with the essence of who you are. Ecstatic dance is movement as a healing
and spiritual practice. It awakens the dancer within everyone despite
age, race, size, shape, or dance experience. Creating space within the
body opens the channel for creative life force energy to flow. Working
with the chakra system, five elements, breath and movement - it is a
powerful opportunity to shake loose and release any blocks that keep us
from our wholeness.

ECSTATIC EMBODIMENT EXPRESSION with Shaeah Fialkow

In sacred space, we will breath, we will move, we will dance, play, feel, express…we will do and be whatever arises in the moment. This is a highly interactive, participatory playshop exploring our capacity to freely express ourselves in the moment. Come as you are, prepared to do anything. You are guaranteed to develop a more intimate relationship with your body, able to feel and express yourself more freely and fully. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat, any props, toys, costumes, etc. you would like to play with.
$5-$20 sliding scale
Receive a free 1.5 hour massage if you pay for a month at full price. ($120 value)
